Sonance Speakers

From the time Sonance invented the in-wall speaker, they have been unveiling new speaker designs to match any interior.  Peruse the Sonance speaker lines below, or schedule an appointment at our demo room.

Invisible Series

Imagine that. The ability to outfit any room or space with ambient sound without creating clutter, distractions, or disruptions to the interior design. It’s why Sonance Invisible Series loudspeakers complement some of the most prominent and prestigious destinations and properties in the world, from distinctive residences to glamorous resorts and exclusive retail establishments.

Sonance Invisible Series proprietary structural and engineering features make it possible to invisibly install the Invisible Series speakers in almost any standard wood/metal stud wall or ceiling; the speaker is completely concealed and essentially becomes an integral part of the wall or ceiling surface. Using planar diaphragm technology, patented Invisible Series speakers radiate sound in a 140° hemispherical pattern with smooth, even coverage throughout its bandwidth.

Invisible Series speakers employ a rigid, flat diaphragm approximately one-half inch thick, that installs into a standard wall or ceiling cavity replacing the equivalent surface area of gypsum board. Contractor personnel then mud and sand the speaker diaphragm into the surrounding drywall. The speaker’s radiating surface becomes part of the wall or ceiling surface, completely disappearing. The wall can then be finished with water-soluble materials such as latex paints, using conventional brush-on, roller or airless spray application systems to match any color or decor requirement. Invisible Series speakers may also be covered using wallpaper, light-weight vinyl wall coverings and selected textured coatings.

The Invisible Series’ exclusive installation method makes the speakers truly invisible, allowing you to place the speakers wherever optimal performance dictates, eliminating any concerns over visual aesthetics.

Cinema Series

Sonance Cinema® Series speakers ensure nothing is lost when films are experienced beyond the multiplex, extending our legendary audio performance to home theaters of every size. Our creative blend of left-center-right (LCR), surround, and subwoofer technology reproduces music, sound effects, and dialog with stunning clarity and impact.

Room layout and space considerations are easily accommodated with a choice of Sonance Cinema Series Cabinet, In-Wall, or In-Ceiling speakers. Because the speakers are identically voiced, performance levels and speaker models can be combined in the same room, providing the ultimate home theater experience.

And Sonance Cinema Series speakers are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the ear. Our unique micro-trim grilles, featuring just 0.2 inches of trim, attach magnetically to in-wall and in-ceiling speakers and can be painted in a single step to match surrounding surfaces.

The Sonance Cinema Series Cabinet, In-Wall, and In-Ceiling speakers provide complete design flexibility. The series is tonally matched so you can choose from any installation style, or mix and match, without affecting the reference clarity or realism even in the largest home theaters.

Unique Advantages, Inside and Out

Sonance Cinema Series speakers stand apart from the crowd. Even a casual glance reveals an unrivaled degree of fit and finish. But the distinctions don’t end there. Our technologically advanced design and superior quality of materials ensure a level of performance that will satisfy the most demanding listeners.

Micro-Trim Grille Design

Sonance Cinema Series In-Wall and In-Ceiling speakers feature Sonance Visual Performance® grilles. They blend beautifully into the home theater, eliminating the large trim and stark grilles that otherwise might draw unwanted attention from the design of the room—not to mention the movie.

Integrated MDF Enclosure

All Sonance Cinema Series speakers feature an integrated sealed enclosure made from 1/2″ thick, non-resonant MDF, which minimizes sonic colorations that can rob film soundtracks of clarity and impact. The enclosure’s density also prevents sound transmissions from leaking into adjacent rooms.

Laminated Cones

The midrange and woofer drivers both have cones featuring a laminate of carbon fiber and Rohacell®. These two materials create a cone that is very light, non-resonant, and extremely stiff. Due to the cone density, sound trapped inside the enclosure will not penetrate the cone and color the sound, another common pitfall of conventional speaker design.

Dual and Quad Woofers

The dual or quad woofers set a new standard for bass performance. Dips in frequency response are minimized because the woofers are at varying distances from the reflective wall surfaces, resulting in less than 3dB of cancellation. Combined with the performance advantages of coaxial drivers, Cinema Series speakers produce the highest degree of sonic accuracy and very low sensitivity to room placement.

Discrete Crossover Boards

The Sonance Cinema Series features discrete PC boards for the woofer crossover components and a second PC board for the midrange and tweeter components. The separation of the PC boards minimizes any distortion caused by interaction between the inductors used in the crossover circuits, a problem that commonly plagues conventional home theater systems when played at higher volumes. The separation of the crossover boards maintains the same level of sonic purity at low and high volume levels.

Crossover Components and Double-Sided PC Boards

The highest quality polypropylene capacitors, air core inductors, and laminated iron core resistors are used in every Cinema Series speaker. All components have been chosen for their low dissipation and power compression. Furthermore, our PC boards feature copper plating on both sides for maximum signal transfer. This avoids the problem of circuit resistance found in other home theater speakers that use less expensive one-sided plating.
